I’m Alex, and I’m a Tools Developer for artists and game developers.
My focus is in designing and developing tools to make the creation process easier for artist and designers, streamlining content creation to simplify the process of getting something from A to B.
I enjoy programming in C#, performing the cardinal sin of Sloth using JavaScript and have dabbled in C/C++. I have also written multiple scripting languages, worked on AI creation (navigation, behaviour and tools), content designer tools (in Unity) and programmed games.
Sometimes I’m just an artist. I’ve worked with 3D tools like Blender, Maya, and 3DS Max creating 3D models, rigging, animating and rendering out high quality visuals to be used in games. I have also worked in 2D, creating website front ends, branding (logos and graphics), compositing and UI creation for games.
I write too (short stories, blogs, copy).
I’ve been fortunate to work on a variety of genres of small ambitious and niche projects (sometimes bizarre) that have pushed my understanding of the game development processes, and the tools needed, to get things across the finish line.
With each challenge and notch on my belt, my hope is to continue creating tools for artists, applying everything I learn to them. And maybe one day to create my own games as myself (VTL) or as Redefinition Games.
